Biography: 

Dr. Sondra Beres is a Professor and the Director of Clinical Training for the Department of Counseling and Health Psychology. Dr. Beres teaches multiple clinical courses to graduate students, and provides clinical supervision in counseling at Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Beres’ research interests include best practices in clinical supervision, psychotherapy with multi-stressed families, and supporting caregivers of chronically ill family members.

Healing Philosophy

Dr. Beres takes a whole person in context approach to clinical practice, which translates to an awareness of how social and contextual factors impact physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Past Experience

Dr. Beres has trained and supervised counselors and family therapists through university affiliations and private practice in two countries for two decades. She started the Center for Personal and Relationship Counseling, a non-profit agency which provided affordable counseling and clinical supervision in Colorado as well as the Centre for Psychotherapist Development and Supervision in Scotland.
