Both the Bastyr Naturopathic Medicine Dispensary and the Chinese and Ayurvedic Dispensary welcome prescriptions from licensed practitioners throughout the nation. We accept orders by phone, fax, or in-person if they are written on tamper-proof prescription paper with the prescribing doctor's professional information included.
Our dispensaries require all supplement companies we offer to complete a stringent quality assurance process to ensure they test product ingredients for identity, label quantity claims, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbial contaminants. For orders picked-up or shipped in Washington state, patients do not pay sales tax on items prescribed by a ND, MD, ARNP, or DO.
For your first order, we will ask for your professional information:
- Your first and last name
- Your formal title (ND, MD, LAc, DACM, DO, DVM, etc.)
- Your license number
- Your contact number(s) and business address
We will also need to know information about your patient:
- Patient's first and last name
- Patient's birth date
- Item or formula prescribed
- Directions for use
- Number or refills, or length of time for PRN (as needed) refills
If you are a Bastyr provider in the clinic, please submit patient medication orders through Epic to either the SA75 BUW ND DISPENSARY or SA75 BUW CHM DISPENSARY order pools.
After you submit a patient's order, please instruct the patient to visit the clinic for pick-up, or have them call us to provide their shipping and payment information (our contact information is below).
Once we receive an order from the prescribing healthcare professional and after being authorized by a call from the patient, we prepare the prescription. Custom prescriptions require pre-payment before preparation. Products remain on will call for approximately two weeks, at which time the products are returned to inventory and the patients' records are updated to accurately reflect refills, etc.
We ship mail orders by USPS Priority Mail within 1-2 business days of patient authorization.
We are happy to special order products not in our inventory if they are made by our current vendors and prescribed by a doctor. We do not establish vendor relations with new companies without appropriate contact and review. New products and companies are welcome to apply for potential inclusion in Bastyr Naturopathic Medicine Dispensary and the Chinese and Ayurvedic Dispensary inventory.
