In addition to Laura’s clinical work in a Seattle-based private practice, she teaches and provides supervision to graduate level students at both Bastyr and Antioch Universities. She is also a current doctoral Counselor Education and Supervision student at Antioch University Seattle. 

Clinical Interests & Philosophy:

Laura sees clinical work as an ongoing process related to the quality of multidimensional connection to self, other, the natural and supernatural worlds. Increasing understanding, respect, and celebration of collective story, culture, and clients’ own definitions of healing, wellness, and health is at the center of her practice and clinical philosophy. 

Laura’s clinical interests include somatic/body oriented practices that prioritize decolonized and social justice oriented work. This includes working within the child welfare, foster care, criminal and family law judicial systems. Research interests include trauma-informed teaching practices and increased accessibility to higher education by historically marginalized populations. 

Past Experience:

Laura started her professional life as a childcare worker and yoga/movement teacher. Finding herself fascinated by human development across circumstances and the mind/body connection, she continued her professional development by attending graduate school for Couple and Family Therapy. In addition to systems-based mental health training, she has extensive training in parent/child relationships, cognitive behavioral therapy, body psychotherapy, yoga therapy, and Polyvagal-informed practices. Alongside building her private practice, Laura worked as an in-home Family Preservation Services therapist contracted with the WA State Department of Children Youth and Families for five years. Currently, she is a proud volunteer for A Home Within, an organization connecting former and current foster youth to no cost mental health services.
