Dr. Somol is an adjunct academic and clinical faculty member at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, where she sees patients in private practice.
Dr. Somol takes a special interest in women’s health and adolescent medicine. She is especially focused on preventive care and sees a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Dr. Somol has spent 20 years in the healing profession and 10 years as a public educator on botanical medicine. She has been practicing primary care family medicine since 2005. She completed a two-year residency at Bastyr Center and has fostered many collaborative relationships within the medical community. She served as an intern in pediatrics, women’s health, tropical diseases and travel medicine, community health and acute and urgent conditions.
Dr. Somol has lectured on natural approaches to healthy sleep at the Association of Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse’s (AAPPN) annual convention. Since 2008, she has spoken on asthma in adolescence, Food allergies and food allergy testing, and updates in approaches to women's health issues at the Pacific Northwest's Advanced Practices in Primary and Acute Care Convention and at other medical conferences in the area. She has written articles for the Seattle Times on women’s health and has been consulted for multiple online publications on health and wellness.
Dr. Somol received an ND from Bastyr University and a BA in Russian language and literature from Wesleyan University. She has served as secretary on the board of directors for the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
