Bastyr Dispensary is expanding your access to its high-quality herbs and tinctures by allowing over-the-counter purchases of up to 2 ounces of a variety of loose herbs, teas and single tinctures.

Prescriptions still are required for low-dose herbs, Chinese herbs and custom blends, which means you can only purchase one variety of herb or tincture per container. Click here to see a list of available bulk items.

High-Quality Products You Can Trust

Because these products also are used for prescriptions, customers can be assured that they have gone through a stringent quality assurance process (learn more in the article “Bastyr Dispensary Strives for High-Quality Supplements.”)

“All of these bulk items go through a rigorous quality assurance process where they are tested for purity and identity,” says Alana Anderson, manager of the Bastyr Dispensary, adding that manufacturers include many trusted brands such as Herbal Vitality, Wise Woman Herbals, Herb Pharm, Oregon’s Wild Harvest, Pacific Botanicals, Western Herbs and others.

Herbs and Teas

The dispensary now offers more than 100 bulk herbs and teas, including: Calendula, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, Astralagus, Eyebright, Lavender, Dandelion, Echinacea, Rose Hips, Catnip and more. The bulk rate price* is:

• 1 gram: 17 cents
• 1 ounce: $5
• 2 ounces: $10

(*Exceptions are Goldenseal, which costs 90 cents for 1 gram or $27 for 1 ounce; and Bentonite clay, which costs 5 cents for 1 gram or $1.50 for 1 ounce.)

Bastyr Dispensary also offers its own tea blends at the bulk rate price. Blends include Cold and Flu Tea; Detox and Bowel Tea; Digestive Tea; Mineral Tea; Relaxing Tea; Sinus Tea; and Urinary Tea.

Tinctures and Oils

You also may choose from hundreds of single tinctures and glycerites, which are available from a half-ounce to 2-ounce portion. Bulk cost is:

• ½ ounce: $7.75
• 1 ounce: $13
• 2 ounces: $24

In addition, the dispensary offers three infused oils for topical use:

• Calendula oil: $8.50 per ounce
• Hypericum oil: $11 per ounce
• Phytolacca oil: $11 per ounce

Loose herbs, teas and tinctures can be purchased in the back of the dispensary where patients normally pick up prescriptions. You may prepay for orders via phone or have your order mailed to you for a shipping and handling fee.
